One thing I have realized over the past few months is that there'll always be trade-offs, you just can't take it all together. And this is not even a status-quo that can be challenged lmao. 'Kuch paane ke liye kuch khona padta hai' is so so true. And this will happen at almost every stage of your career, in many aspects of life. From something as tiny as 'what to eat today?' to something like 'choose relationship or business. Luckily, I haven't faced dilemmas of that order but I believe the tiny ones I face today will eventually help me with those big ones too. For me it's about choosing what industry to work in, what should be my next steps, personal projects or internships, own a game studio or work at an established one, etc.

Until now what has worked for me has been measuring the ROI in a broader sense, the metrics can vary for each individual. For me, learning is on priority rn, followed by what excites me the most/what am I more curious about, but I know it'll be money in a year or two, or something else. To give an example: I ventured into community biz for some time, even though I learned a lot, it didn't quite excite me as much as what I'm currently doing does, ie, game dev. So here I am, hooping through dilemmas one at a time :P

Lastly, this helped. Highly recommend 👇
